Born and raised in Joplin, Missouri, I've also resided in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Mt. Clemens, Michigan, Springfield, Missouri and Colorado Springs, Colorado. Though I have loved each area, the Ozarks will always hold a special place in my heart.
I was inspired to write my first book, IT'S A WONDERFUL UNDEAD LIFE, while working as a phlebotomist. Of course, since I spent every day sticking needles into veins for the collection of blood samples, it led me to write a story about vampires.
I tried to imagine what would happen to a phlebotomist if she were to become a vampire? And the Blautsauger family of vampires was born.
Side note: Blautsauger is an old Bavarian word for bloodsucker.
